Angie and Gabe's School Days-August & September

9-29-06 Yesterday Gabriel got his 1st report card for the year. He did AWESOME!!! He got all A's! His overall average is a 93. Here is a breakdown of his grades: Language Arts-95; Social Stuides-93; Math-93; Science-91. David and I are SOOO proud of him! Angie won't get hers for about another 2 weeks.

On Thursday we had parent-teacher conferences. Here's how the kiddos are doing: Gabriel-his teacher didn't have much to say, except that he is doing very well. He is doing everything he is supposed to. By the end of 2nd grade his reading level should be a 70. Currently his reading level is a 140!!! Yup, that's right! He is WAY above what he should be! He's doing really well in Math, Science, and Spelling as well. As you can see from his grades on his 1st report card. Angie-her teacher just praised her and said she enjoys having her in her class. She knows ALL her letters, colors, numbers, letter sounds, and the difference between upper and lower case. She is just a lil shy. As most of you all know, Angie is shy when she is around people she doesn't know. But she is opening up! Both my babies are doing AWESOME in school this year. I am sooooo proud of them! =)

9-20-06 Last week Angie was Citizen of the Week for her class, so on Monday of last week, I went and had lunch with her and last Thursday David and I went and had lunch with her. And on Friday, her Grandpa, my dad, went and had lunch with her. She was so excited! All week she even got to wear a tiara! She loved it! Gabriel took his 2nd spelling test of the school year last Friday and got a 104! He got a 100 on the test and got the 4 bonus spelling words right! That boy is SOOOOO smart! The end of the 1st 6 weeks is this Friday. I think Report Cards go out next week. Lets see how he does. I'm sure he is doing EXCELLENT!!!!

9-7-06 So school is going great for the kiddos! They are enjoying it SOOOO much. Angie is learning to try all kinds of other foods, other than chicken nuggets. She's also enjoying working on her homework. Gabe took his VERY 1st Science test on Thursday, August 31st and got a 100! And he took his 1st Spelling test for this year on Friday the 1st and got a 99! He is doing really good and always has his homework done before I get home from work. Part of his homework every night is to read for 15-20 mins and sometimes he reads to Angie. They are both doing really well in school. I picked them up for the first time on Tuesday, the 5th, and they both look so grown up with their classmates and friends.....*tear*....I have no more babies......But, on the upside, I am so glad they are doing really well in a new school with new people.

8-15-06 Ok, so I got the kiddos off to school this morning. YEA!!!!!!!! They were so excited! This year they are at a different school since we moved. At first I wasn't sure how Angie was going to react. She's in kinder this year and is going ALL day and is going to a different school. Last year she was in Pre-K and only went half a day, so this is big for her. Her teacher seems nice and they even have a pet bunny named Cleo and 4 hermit crabs. She's really looking forward to making new friends and learning. Gabriel's teacher seems nice and I hope she can keep up with him! He's also looking forward to making new friends and learning!
